Sub-legislative regulations

A multitude of legal ordinances and some laws, such as the Battery Act (BattA) or the Packaging Act (PackA) supplement and concretise the regulations of the Circular Economy Act (CEA). These laws and implementing ordinances serve to enforce the Circular Economy Act and include ordinances that, among other things, shape the monitoring under waste law or determine which wastes are hazardous.

For those areas of waste management not regulated by the Federal Government, as well as for the implementation and supplementation of the regulations made by the Federal Government, the Federal States can enact their own waste laws. In addition, the waste management statutes and the waste fee statutes of the bodies responsible for waste disposal (counties and municipalities) are decisive for the implementation of waste disposal in specific individual cases.
